Congratulations You're getting married

Let's feed everybody

If you're reading this, you've probably already got a date, a barn or a backyard, and a whole lot of people who are going to show up hungry.

Here's the short version. We cook the barbecue at one of our five restaurants the day of your wedding. We bring it out to your venue. We set the buffet line up on your table — pans, serving spoons, plates, sauces, sweet tea, the whole works. Then we head on out and let y'all eat.

No servers standing around. No rental china. No service charge at the bottom of the invoice. Just good barbecue, hot, on the table, for eighteen dollars a head.

Start to finish

How it works

01

Tell us the date

Fill out the form below with your date, your guest count and where the venue is. We'll get back to you with a written quote you can hand to anybody who asks.

02

Pick your two sides

Beans, mac-n-cheese, potato salad, green beans or slaw. Add ribs if you want a third meat. Lock your final headcount a week out.

03

We cook that morning

Pork goes on overnight at your closest restaurant. Nothing is frozen, nothing is trucked in from out of state, and nothing gets made the day before.

04

We set it up and go

We show up ahead of service, lay the line out on your table, set the spoons and the plates, and hand you the tongs. Then we're gone.

No surprises on the day

What we bring, and what you'll want on hand

Drop-off catering goes wrong exactly one way — somebody assumed somebody else was bringing something. So here it is in writing, and it's the same list on the venue sheet you can print out.

We bring

Included at $18 a guest, no add-on
  • All the food, hot, in full-size foil pans
  • Serving spoons and tongs for every pan
  • Plates, napkins, silverware and cups
  • Sweet tea and lemonade in gallon jugs
  • All five sauces, in squeeze bottles
  • The buffet line set up on your table
  • Delivery timed to land just ahead of service

You or the venue brings

Not included — plan for these
  • The tables — plan on one 8-foot table per 100 guests, and a second line if you're over 175
  • Chafing racks and sterno, if you want the line held hot longer than the meal itself. Any party rental or big-box store has them cheap
  • Ice and drink dispensers — figure a pound of ice a guest, two if it's July; both are yours to bring
  • Linens, china and glassware, if you'd rather not use the disposables
  • Somebody to run the line — a cousin, a church lady, a coordinator. Guests serve themselves
  • Trash cans and teardown — we don't come back for the pans
  • Cake, bar and anything alcoholic
"Guests came up to me all night telling me how good the food was. Half of 'em asked where we got it."

The whole spread

Everything below is on the regular Hog-N-Bones catering menu. If you want something that isn't here, ask — we've done a lot of weddings and very few of them were identical.

Do the math once

How much do we need?

This is the question that keeps people up at night, so here's the answer before you have to ask it.

GuestsYour totalTea & lemonadeIce (you bring)Buffet tableLine time

150$2,70013 gallons~150 lbOne 8-ft table~45 min

250$4,50021 gallons~250 lbTwo 8-ft tables~40 min

Totals are the package only, before tax — delivery is free within 25 miles. Drinks figure one gallon per twelve guests across a two-hour meal. Ice figures one pound a guest for the dispensers — make it two if it's July — and it's yours to bring. Two lines cut the wait roughly in half, which is why 200 guests move faster than 150 on this chart.

Where we deliver

Your food comes out of whichever Hog-N-Bones is closest to your venue, so it's a short ride and it's still hot when it gets there. Delivery is free within 25 miles of your closest location, and $1.50 a mile past that.

It's not just the reception

A wedding is three meals, not one. We do the rehearsal dinner the night before, and we're the only caterer around here who can put a real Southern breakfast on the table the morning after — biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, hash rounds and cinnamon rolls, in bulk pans, delivered.

Same kitchens, same trucks, same price structure. Ask for all three on one quote and we'll keep it on one invoice.

Questions we get asked

Ours is $18 a guest, flat. That covers two smoked meats, two sides, bread, dessert, sweet tea and lemonade, all the plates and utensils, delivery, and setting the buffet line up at your venue. There is no service charge and no gratuity added.

For comparison, the national average for wedding catering is around $80 a guest, and most barbecue caterers who do weddings run $23 to $39 a head for drop-off. We're a restaurant, not a wedding caterer, and you're paying restaurant prices because you're not paying for servers, rentals or event pricing.

$2,700 for the food, plus Georgia sales tax — delivery is free within 25 miles. 100 guests is $1,800. 200 is $3,600. 250 is $4,500. Adding ribs as a third meat is $3.99 a guest on top.

We set it up. We arrive ahead of service, lay the pans out on the table you've provided, put the serving spoons and tongs in, stack the plates and napkins at the front, and set the sauces and drinks out. Then we head out and let your guests serve themselves.

What we don't do is stay and serve, and we don't come back at the end of the night to break it down.

Everything leaves the restaurant hot and covered, and we time delivery so it lands shortly before you're ready to eat — that's the whole reason we cook at the closest location to your venue.

If your reception runs long or you want the line open for a couple of hours, pick up chafing racks and sterno. Any party rental place or big-box store carries them and a set runs a few dollars. Hot food should be held at 135°F or above, and in South Georgia heat, buffet food won't hold forever. Plan your timeline around eating, not around holding.

The rule of thumb is a third to a half pound of cooked meat per adult, plus two to three sides. Our package is built at 4 ounces of pulled pork plus a smoked chicken quarter per guest, which lands squarely in that range and is why nobody goes back for seconds and finds an empty pan.

Count children over about eight as adults. Count everyone who's working the wedding — the photographer, the DJ, the coordinator. They eat too.

Figure one gallon per twelve guests across a two-hour meal — about 13 gallons for 150 people. Your package covers the meal; extra gallons are $6.49 for tea and $12.99 for lemonade.

For ice, figure a pound a guest if the tea and lemonade are going into dispensers, and two pounds a guest if it's a hot day or you've got a bar going. The ice and the dispensers are both yours to bring — any gas station or grocery store on the way covers it.

Tables for the buffet line — one 8-foot table per 100 guests, two if you're over 175. Chafing racks and sterno if you want the line held hot. Drink dispensers. Trash cans. And somebody to keep an eye on the line and pull the pans at the end of the night.

We've put all of this on a printable sheet you can hand straight to your venue coordinator — grab the venue info sheet.

Yes. Everything that's left is yours. We don't come back for it and we don't take it with us. Bring a cooler and a couple of willing relatives — it's the best wedding-night snack there is.

Formally we only need 24 hours' notice on a catering order. Practically, call us as soon as you've got a date and a venue. Saturdays in spring and fall book up, and locking your date early costs you nothing.

Your final headcount is due about a week out. Small adjustments after that are usually fine — just call the store.

You can, and it's easier than a tasting. Come eat at any of our five restaurants. The pulled pork, chicken, ribs and every side on your wedding menu are on the line every day — what you taste on a Tuesday is exactly what shows up at your reception. Tell the manager you're planning a wedding and they'll walk you through it.

Tell us on the form and we'll talk it through with you personally. We'll walk you through the menu so you and your guests can make the call — the sweet potato soufflé, for instance, contains nuts.

We'd rather have that conversation on the phone than have you guess from a website.

Yes to both, and the breakfast is the one people forget about. We're Breakfast & BBQ — biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, hash rounds and cinnamon rolls, in bulk pans, delivered to wherever your people are staying. Put all three meals on one quote and we'll keep it on one invoice.

Print this and hand it to your venue

Most barns and event halls want to know who's feeding your people, when they're arriving, what they're bringing through the door and who's responsible for what. It's a reasonable question and it shouldn't cost you a phone call. So we put it all on one sheet — arrival window, what we set up, what the venue provides, food safety and holding, contact numbers. Print it, email it, staple it to the contract.

Say, I do.

Eighteen dollars a guest. Delivered, set up, and hot when your people sit down. Five kitchens across South Georgia and one very short list of things you have to worry about.
